Documents from Tanzania to be used for official purpose abroad.

If you have documents from Tanzania (mainland or Zanzibar) that you need to present to authorities in Turkey, they MUST be legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tanzania if they have been issued in Tanzania. For documents issued in Zanzibar (originating from Zanzibar) must be first legalized by the Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Zanzibar and then be brought to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for legalization again.  After being legalized at the Ministry then the documents should be taken to the Turkey Embassy in Tanzania. There are legal fees to be paid at the Ministry as well as at the Embassies.

Documents to be legalized must be originals or copies of the original depending on the requirements. Copies may be legalized as well upon presentation of the original copies for quick reference and office verification.

Document must be translated into Turkish by a certified translator and Notary

 Legalization illustrates that: the document was issued by a competent and expert authority, the signature, seal and /or stamp on the document are genuine, the document’s format is correct.

The Embassy of Tanzania in Ankara Turkey can authenticate documents signed by Authorities in Tanzania if asked to do so.

Documents from Turkey to be used for official purpose in Tanzania mainland or Zanzibar.

Similarly, if you have a document from Turkey which you need to use/ present to Authorities in Tanzania (Mainland or Zanzibar), they must be legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Turkey and by the Embassy of Tanzania in Ankara.

List of Documents that can be legalized by the Embassy include civil status documents, birth certificates, court orders, marriage certificates, diplomas and any other document that requires legalization as per requirement shall be legalized as the need arises.

NB:Documents to be legalized/ endorsed must be sent to the Embassy including a receipt of fee payment of 20 EURO per document.
