On 4 August 2026, the Ambassador of Tanzania to Türkiye, H.E Iddi Seif Bakari met with a delegation from Doğanlar Agriculture in Ankara, led by the company's Chief Executive Director, Ms. Çiğdem Dogan.
During the meeting, Ms. Dogan highlighted that Doğanlar Agriculture has over 50 years of experience in manufacturing agricultural machinery and, through cooperation with Exim Bank has successfully conducted business in several African countries, including Cameroon, Ghana, Senegal, and Mozambique. She expressed the company's interest in supporting Tanzania's agricultural transformation agenda by supplying modern agricultural machinery, providing technological support to farmers, and exploring joint initiatives through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) to support Tanzanian farmers and agricultural institutions.
H.E Bakari welcomed the company's interest in expanding its presence in Tanzania, noting that agriculture remains the backbone of the country's economy and a key driver of inclusive economic growth. He underscored the importance of increased trade and investment in agricultural mechanization to improve productivity, and equip farmers with modern technology and skills. The Ambassador also commended Doğanlar Agriculture's collaboration with Exim Bank, whose operations in Tanzania provide an important financing mechanism that can facilitate farmers' access to agricultural machinery.
Highlighting Tanzania's strategic location as a gateway to the East African Community (EAC) and the Southern African Development Community (SADC), the Ambassador encouraged Doğanlar Agriculture to consider investing in agricultural machinery assembly facilities in Tanzania, rather than limiting its engagement to exports only. He noted that such an investment would reduce equipment costs, improve accessibility, and position Tanzania as a regional distribution hub for the company's products considering its well-developed port infrastructures that serve several landlocked countries in the region, making it an ideal base for supplying agricultural equipment across the region.
